Information

Oldenhove is an interpretation of the lettering found on the facades of two buildings located in The Hague and Amsterdam, designed by architect F. A. Warners (1888–1952) in a style reminiscent of the Amsterdam School.
Sabina Chipară adapted the original letters, smoothing out imperfections and increasing the alphabet’s consistency to create a solid Deco-style typeface.
Oldenhove features an strong contrast between its stems and compact, compressed appearance. It’s a typeface well-suited for art or architecture book covers, as well as movie and theater posters. Restaurants and shops aiming to suggest elegance or evoke the 1920s and 1930s in their branding will also find Oldenhove a fitting typographic resource.
