Wrightex
Wrightex is a modular and minimalist display typeface designed by Ramiro Espinoza, inspired by the striking lettering created by English designer and architect Edward Wright (1912–1988) for the cover of a 1960 issue of the Architectural Association Journal. Wright’s design—bold, reductive, and rooted in Constructivist principles—embodied the spirit of postwar geometric idealism.
With Wrightex, Espinoza transforms Wright’s original concept into a complete and contemporary typeface. Its letterforms are built on a strict modular system, featuring reverse contrast and no curves, lending themselves to impactful compositions. Ideal for posters, exhibition graphics, branding, and museum communication pieces, Wrightex offers designers a clean, modern tool with deep historical roots.
Both homage and reinterpretation, Wrightex channels the essence of Edward Wright’s typographic vision—rational, economical, and strikingly modern. Now available through Brutal Types.
